It supports CAN1.2, CAN 2.0A, CAN 2.0B Passive, and CAN 2.0BActive versions of the protocol, and is capable of transmittingand receiving standard and extended messages.It is also capable of both acceptance filteringand message management. It includes three transmitbuffers and two receive buffers that reduce the amountof microcontroller (MCU) management required. TheMCU communication is implemented via an industrystandard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) with datarates up to 5 Mb/s.
